4. Remove the mounting bracket. The mounting bracket is what attaches the fan to the ceiling. It is typically held in place by four screws. Unscrew the screws and remove the mounting bracket.

5. Lower the fan. Once the mounting bracket is removed, you can carefully lower the fan from the ceiling. Be careful not to drop the fan, as it could damage the fan or the ceiling.

6. Remove the canopy. The canopy is the decorative cover that hides the mounting bracket. It is typically held in place by a few screws. Unscrew the screws and remove the canopy.

7. Remove the fan motor. The fan motor is the part that powers the fan. It is typically held in place by four screws. Unscrew the screws and remove the fan motor.

8. Clean up. Once the fan is removed, you can clean up any debris that has fallen from the fan or the ceiling. You can also vacuum the area around the fan to remove any dust or dirt.
