Hunter Ceiling Fan Mounting Instructions

Before beginning the installation, please ensure you have gathered all the necessary tools and materials and read the instructions carefully.

Tools and Materials:

Screwdriver
Drill
Tape measure
Level
Electrical tape
Wire nuts
Ceiling fan mount
Ceiling fan

Step 1: Safety Precautions

Turn off the power to the ceiling fan circuit at the circuit breaker or fuse box.

Use a non-contact voltage tester to confirm that the power is off.

Secure a sturdy ladder to the ceiling and ensure it is stable before climbing.

Step 2: Install the Ceiling Fan Mount (for Existing Wiring)

Locate the electrical box in the ceiling where the fan will be mounted.

Secure the ceiling fan mount to the electrical box using the provided screws.

If the ceiling fan mount does not fit the electrical box, you may need to purchase an adapter.

Step 3: Connect the Wiring

Connect the black wire from the fan mount to the black wire from the ceiling. Connect the white wire from the fan mount to the white wire from the ceiling.

Connect the ground wire from the fan mount to the green or bare copper wire from the ceiling.

Use wire nuts to secure all wire connections and wrap them with electrical tape.

Step 4: Install the Ceiling Fan

Insert the ball on the downrod into the socket on the ceiling fan mount.

Secure the ceiling fan to the mount by tightening the screws on the canopy.

Step 5: Attach the Fan Blades

Insert the fan blades into the blade brackets on the fan.

Secure the fan blades to the brackets with the provided screws.

Step 6: Balance the Fan

Use a fan balancing kit (typically included with the fan) to balance the fan.

If the fan wobbles, add the balancing weights to the blade that is closest to the floor.

Step 7: Turn on the Power

Turn on the power to the ceiling fan circuit at the circuit breaker or fuse box.

Test the fan to ensure it is operating properly.
