How To Paint Ceilings Like A Pro

Painting ceilings can be daunting, but with the right techniques and preparation, you can achieve a professional-looking finish. Follow these steps to paint your ceilings like a pro.

1. Protect Your Surroundings

Cover furniture and floors with drop cloths or plastic sheeting. Use masking tape to protect baseboards, crown molding, and light fixtures. Remove ceiling fans or light fixtures if possible.

2. Prepare The Ceiling

Clean the ceiling thoroughly with a damp sponge or cloth to remove any dirt or dust. Repair any holes or cracks with spackling paste and let it dry. Sand the repaired areas smooth.

3. Choose The Right Paint

Flat or matte paint is the best choice for ceilings as it conceals imperfections and reduces glare. Use a paint specifically designed for ceilings, which often contains mildew and moisture resistance.

4. Cut In Around Edges

Use a brush to apply paint around the edges of the ceiling, including corners and light fixtures. Cut in the paint using steady, even strokes.

5. Roll On The Paint
