Ceiling Fan Switch 3 Speed 4 Wire

When installing a ceiling fan, understanding the wiring configuration is crucial. A common scenario involves a 3-speed ceiling fan with a 4-wire switch. This guide will provide a comprehensive explanation of the wiring process for such a setup.

Wiring Identification

The 4 wires involved in this setup are typically color-coded as follows:

Switch Wiring

At the switch box, you will have three wires coming from the ceiling: black, white, and blue. Connect these wires to the corresponding terminals on the switch:

Black: Connect to the "LINE" terminal on the switch.
White: Connect to the "LOAD" terminal on the switch.
Blue: Connect to the "FAN" terminal on the switch.

Fan Wiring
