Flat Led Ceiling Light Replacement

Flat LED ceiling lights are becoming increasingly popular due to their energy efficiency, long lifespan, and sleek design. Replacing an old ceiling light with a new flat LED light is a relatively straightforward process that can be completed in a few simple steps.

Step 1: Gather the necessary tools and materials.

Screwdriver
Wire cutters
Electrical tape
New flat LED ceiling light

Step 2: Turn off the power to the ceiling light.

This can be done by flipping the breaker that controls the light or by removing the fuse that is connected to the light.

Step 3: Remove the old ceiling light fixture.

Locate the screws that are holding the old light fixture in place, then remove the screws and gently pull the light fixture down.

Step 4: Disconnect the wires from the old ceiling light fixture.

Use the wire cutters to cut the wires about 6 inches from the old light fixture, then strip about 1/2 inch of insulation from the ends of the wires.

Step 5: Connect the wires to the new LED ceiling light fixture.

Match the black wire from the ceiling to the black wire on the light fixture, and the white wire from the ceiling to the white wire on the light fixture. Twist the ends of the wires together and secure them with electrical tape.

Step 6: Mount the new LED ceiling light fixture.

Hold the new LED ceiling light fixture up to the ceiling and line up the screw holes on the fixture with the screw holes in the ceiling. Insert the screws and tighten them until the fixture is secure.

Step 7: Turn on the power to the ceiling light.

Flip the breaker back on or replace the fuse, then turn on the light switch to test the new LED ceiling light.

If you are not comfortable working with electricity, it is best to hire a qualified electrician to replace your ceiling light.
Make sure that the new LED ceiling light fixture is the correct size for the space where it will be installed.
