Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan Instruction Manual

Thank you for purchasing a Hampton Bay ceiling fan. Please read these instructions carefully before installing and operating your new fan. Your safety is important to us, so please follow all safety instructions.

Safety Precautions

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, follow these safety precautions:

Read all instructions before installing and operating your ceiling fan.
Use only the mounting hardware provided with the fan.
Do not mount the fan on a ceiling that is not structurally sound.
Make sure the electrical box you are using to support the fan is properly grounded.
Do not operate the fan without the blade covers installed.
Keep the fan away from water and other liquids.
Do not touch the fan while it is in operation.
Turn off the power to the fan before performing any maintenance or cleaning.

Installation Instructions

Choose a location for your ceiling fan. The fan should be mounted at least 7 feet from the floor and 18 inches from any walls or other objects.
Turn off the power to the electrical box where you will be mounting the fan.
Use the provided mounting hardware to attach the fan's mounting bracket to the electrical box.
Connect the wires from the fan to the wires from the electrical box. Make sure to connect the black wire to the black wire, the white wire to the white wire, and the green wire to the green wire.
Install the fan's canopy over the mounting bracket and secure it with the provided screws.
Install the fan's blades by inserting them into the slots on the fan's motor housing and securing them with the provided screws.
Install the fan's light kit, if desired. To do this, remove the screws that hold the canopy in place, and then lift the canopy off of the fan. Connect the wires from the light kit to the wires from the fan, making sure to connect the black wire to the black wire, the white wire to the white wire, and the green wire to the green wire. Then, place the canopy back on the fan and secure it with the screws.
Turn on the power to the fan and test it to make sure it is working properly.

Maintenance Instructions

Clean your ceiling fan regularly with a soft, dry cloth.
Inspect your ceiling fan's blades for any damage or cracks. If you find any damage, replace the blades immediately.
Lubricate your ceiling fan's motor every 3-5 years with a few drops of light oil.
