Tools and Materials

Before you begin, gather the following tools and materials:

New ceiling fan motor
Screwdriver
Wire cutters
Electrical tape

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Turn off the power to the ceiling fan at the circuit breaker.

2. Remove the light kit (if applicable).

Most Hampton Bay ceiling fans have a light kit that is attached to the motor housing. To remove the light kit, simply unscrew the screws that hold it in place.

3. Remove the motor cover.

The motor cover is located on the bottom of the motor housing. To remove the motor cover, simply unscrew the screws that hold it in place.

4. Disconnect the wires from the motor.

5. Remove the old motor.
